University Baptist Church

The staff is excited about the school year and the age-appropriate learning experiences which will enhance your child’s education and bring about spiritual, moral, and physical development.

Our experienced and knowledgeable teachers are eager to give your child the personal love and attention they need. They love children and strive put the needs of each child first, offer love and security, give opportunities to succeed each day, use guided “play” to produce learning, develop social skills for everyday living, and to help lay a spiritual foundation based on God’s love.

Thank you for sharing your child’s life with us. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”

Pam Helton, CDC Director

About Us

The University Baptist Church Child Development Center has been in operation for decades now. Some of the children who have come through our program have brought their own children to the CDC.

The purpose of the center is to extend the ministry of University Baptist Church to preschoolers and their families by providing loving care and quality preschool education to help each child develop to his/her greatest potential - in physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual ways.

Our goal is to provide an affordable, quality education for children to grow and learn in a safe environment where they will be nurtured and loved. Many of our faculty members are church members, or former members, and they have been with the CDC for years. They have valuable experience and continuing education to their credit.

Our concern is to care for each child, giving individual attention to their needs. Each child is a precious gift from God. We want to help them to grow up with the understanding that God loves them and wants to have a relationship with them through every stage of their life.

If you are a parent or legal guardian looking for a quality, affordable education for your preschooler, we encourage you to give us a call or come by. We would be happy to set up an appointment time for you to come by and learn more about what is offered.

We would welcome an opportunity to meet you and answer your questions.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy includes the desire to meet the needs of parents and children of the church and community by providing quality, affordable care in a Christian environment, provide a safe, nurturing place for children, guide the total development of each child spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally and socially and to partner with families in the disciplining of children.

We believe each child is made special by God and we strive to provide the nurture and teaching that will enable them to meet their God given potential.

Learning activities for the preschooler include singing, painting, Bible stories, story time, manipulatives, and developing social skills in a group setting. The WEE Learn Curriculum is used as a teacher resource. Unit topics such as self, family, seasons, holidays and animals are taught on the child’s age level.
